This was one of the suggestions I got when I asked for ideas for Mermay and I'm glad someone reminded me of him.
Alienators Evolution Continues was a show I liked as a kid and it was all about transformations.
One of the protagonist, Wayne, got the ability to mutate to adapt to certain situations and in one episode he became a merman.
