I love how the ancestors are “invoked” to honor Durin. It’s brilliant, and I love that it doesn’t concentrate on his lower register. It’s a great way to bring forth all the feels but not sound too much like the one Colm McGuinness, Bobby Bass and Jonathan Young did. Geoff is just a master at storytelling no matter what genre. I really hope he does The Last Goodbye too.
Very well said. I couldn't agree more. I would like to add that I didn't like the one with Bobby Bass & Colm McGinnis. I think it would have been better without Colm. Something about Colm's voice seems unnatural.
@marshayoung9387 I agree, but it was my son listening to Colm, then Geoff's, I see fire that sent me into my favorite rabbit hole. This was so satisfying and special.
@@marshayoung9387 the really crazy thing is that it is completely natural, someone who knows colm reacted to it, didn't believe the voice was real, thought it was autotuned badly, until he heard him do it in person. colm has one weeeiiiiiird voice. even crazier, he didn't even start singing seriously before 2021.
Thank you for this reaction! I am a big Tolkien fan and listen to the audiobooks regularly. I agree...this is brilliant! I think that Geoff needs to revisit Middle Earth at least once a year. (Yes, that was Gimli. Kathy did a great job with costuming for the new character.)
I would love to hear him come up with something for the song of Berin and Luthien. Such a beautiful, rhythmic poem, it would make an excellent song and you can bet Geoff would do it right.
Geoff is always great, but this one was spectacular. The way all the Geoffs blended and harmonized-wow! And I loved hearing his higher range. His voice is so sweet there, and a beautiful contrast to the lower voices. What an incredible range he has! Thanks for reviewing this!
Thank you once again for an awesome reaction to Geoff. I love how attentive you are when watching Geoff. He does have a way of reaching deep down into your soul.
Every time I watch or listen to this it touches my heart. This is so gorgeous and epic. Geoff's best by far. Voiceplay will be releasing their new video today at noon est..... Be Prepared. Geoff makes a fantastic Scar.
Geoff got the inspiration for this style of singing and acting from Clamavi De Profundus. He found them when he was listening to the various variations of this song he doesn't copy and paste anyone. And after several of us patrons told him about them and suggested a couple songs for him to do. They are a chorus of gentlemen that are mostly baritone and bass. They are extremely amazing and sound like they came right from middle earth. Most of the songs they sing are dwarven type songs. My favorites are: The Last Goodbye. When The Hammer Falls. Diggy Diggy Hole. And this one. He said he doesn't know if he'll do a 4th one. We'll just have to wait and see.
Clamavi de Profundis wrote the music; they didn’t cover it. The word’s are Tolkien’s, of course, but the music is theirs. They are definitely worth a listen - a family group of low-voiced singers. In Latin, their name means Songs from the Deep, roughly.
Beautiful poetry, beautiful music, beautiful voice, beautiful arrangement. Geoff at his best!
The poetry comes from Tolkien, Lord of the rings is full of poems. But the voices are indeed incredible
@@utredmaethor769 Beautiful music, voice and arrangements making honor to Tolkien's beautiful poetry.

I love it when he doesn't live in the basement and his Beautiful harmonies are on full power. Just stunning
Been waiting for your nerdy reaction! This is just mesmerizing!
I just feel that if you need EPIC you get Geoff to do it 😉. The vocals were beautiful. 🌹🕊
I would run across wet volcanic rocks blindfolded to buy an album of Geoff doing EPIC: the Musical covers
@@isaiahhallett9871 - you and me both!!
They are the tallest, leanest dwarves I've ever seen, but dang! The harmonies among the Geoffs is hauntingly beautiful.
Been waiting for this! I knew you’d love it.
He did an amazing job... vocally, musically and visually!
My son said you have a beautiful beard and he wants it 😊
Lol
beautiful harmonies indeed, loved your reaction ❤

@lachimiste1 oh wow, I thought it was a song from Tolkien himself. Just goes to show how impressive it is.
