Ferron Of The Crimson Flame
**I DID NOT DRAW THIS! THIS WAS DONE BY THE AMAZING
leilryu !**
Isvoc is an absolute pleasure to work with. She is very kind and one of the most talented artists I've ever commissioned. She captured the essence of my idea perfectly. When she first showed me the finished picture... I was speechless.
For those of you who are curious, this piece does require a bit of explanation.
The first eye shot, the one on the top, is the eye you'll see upon first encountering the dragon. The blue flecks and strands in the eye shift about like a slow moving liquid. For most, it's really easy to get lost in them because of how entrancing the effect is.
The second eye shot, the one in the middle, is the effect that happens anytime Ferron goes to use magic of any sorts. Beautiful, isn't it?
The third eye shot, the one on the bottom, is what happens whenever Ferron wants to communicate with someone on a deeper level. His pupils dilate, taking up almost all of his iris and through minor manipulations of magic, he connects to another individuals mind via telepathy. His voice will come through and echo in the thoughts of whomever he is talking to. Because of the nature of this link, how he is feeling is also abundantly known to the other individual. He can also transfer memories and what he is physically feeling through this link.
The scales... They aren't like a typical dragons. They aren't large or super thick. If you were to touch him, you would instantly feel just how smooth he is, like a serpent. Each scale is tiny but they are all interwoven over each other. That's how they get their strength. Ferron isn't a red dragon. He is very specifically a crimson dragon and his scales are iridescent, meaning they will shift between various shades of crimson and darker reds, depending on how the light strikes him.
His flame... One of his many titles is "The Crimson Flame", and you can very clearly see why. The chemicals lying within his fireglands combine together with oxygen when he exhales and the mixture ignites, producing the flame you see depicted in this lovely image. It's terrifying but amazing at the same time. Due to the intrinsic magical nature of Ferron, his flames are hotter than a lot of dragons, burning at temperatures over 6000 degrees F (3310 C). He can make tungsten nearly melt.
I am so glad to have this piece now. It will be immensely easier to explain things to people
